Our client is a leading manufacturer of window screens and other window product components. They are looking for a Director of Transportation to join their growing team. This person will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of product shipments.
The ideal candidate can live within a communicable distance to Elizabethton, PA; Elizabethtown, PA; or Hialeah, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the company wide transportation strategy.
- Identify/select and/or utilize a TMS that best fits the business needs.
- Plan and supervise shipments from production to the end-user.
- Schedule daily and weekly routes for all sites.
- Track orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software).
- Monitor and report on transportation costs.
- Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods.
- Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
- Organize training sessions for employees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field
- Comfortable with up to 50% annually
- 7+ years in Transportation Management or similar role
- 7+ years experience in a high-volume shipping environment
- EPICOR Experience (Kinetix preferred)
- Knowledge of industry best practices and value chain analytics
